
Kathmandu valley roads experienced severe traffic jams on Sunday as major stretches were occupied by rallies, protests, street festivals and construction works. The Valley witnessed as many as 10 major traffic disruptions, forcing drivers to wait for hours on end. Taxi protests in Anamnagar, vendors’ protests from Ratnapark to Sundhara, labour workers’ rally from Tripureshwore to Lagankhel and the street festival at Kumaripati in Lalitpur led to the traffic congestion in the Capital. Moreover, the Tinkune-Balkumari stretch was blocked by protesters after a child was allegedly run over by the security vehicle of sesenior UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal.
