Nepal earthquake: Drone footage reveals destruction in Gorkha

Nepal faced a devastating earthquake on April 25, 2015,(Baishak 12, 2072 BS) Saturday, with a magnitude of 7.9 . Till now, 4356 died and 8165 are injured. Due to series of aftershocks in different parts of Nepal, still people are being scared. As per the latest data, in Kathmandu 1039, in Bhaktapur 243 and in Lalitpur 159 people died. Likewise, 2142 people in Kathmandu, 1886 in Bhaktapur and 885 in Lalitpur have been injured. Nepal was hit by a massive 7.9-magnitude earthquake Saturday, killing more than 4,000 people so far, injuring more than 10,000 others.Hospitals across the impoverished nation of 28 million people struggled to cope with the dead and injured from Nepal’s worst quake in 81 years, and a lack of equipment meant rescuers could look no deeper than surface rubble for signs of life. The Nepal earthquake led to an end of the World Heritage site, Durbar Square. The video shows the horrifying pictures of the shattering of one of the oldest sites in Nepal.

Also, The death toll from the avalanche at the Mt Everest base camp triggered by the powerful earthquake on Saturday has climbed to 19 while more than 61 have sustained injuries.Locals spent the night on roads as their homes were destroyed due to the 7.9 magnitude earthquake that struck the country. "After the earthquake, we were told by the media that there will be earthquakes again and again. We felt the earthquake three-four times. The first one was the longest which lasted about five minutes. Of them, 18 died at the base camp while one died while undergoing treatment in Kathmandu, Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Suresh Man Shrestha said.The Ministries of Home, Finance, Defence, Health and Population, Information and Communications, Physical Planning and Transport, Local Development, Urban Development, as well as bodies under the ministries have been providing essential services under the central command of the government. The administrative works have been affected as offices of different ministries have developed cracks, and the dossiers and documents are scattered on the ground due to the earthquake. The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the National Planning Commission, Defense Ministry and the Ministry of Finance, among others, were damaged due to this.
