The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday dismissed the request for a stay order against the implementation of the government decision to ban bags in the Kathmandu valley. The government is set to bring the decision into effect next week.
The number of people visiting the temple and the gardens to observe Salhesh Festival has been steadily increasing every year. According to the organizers of the Festival, more than 100.000 people visited the garden to observe the strange flower this New Year. Visitors came from throughout the country with a majority of the visitors hailing from Mithila Zone, Eastern Terai and Bihar of India. The trees bear the buds of Sunakhari flowers on the last day of the ending year. These buds start to blossom into flowers during the night and by dawn of the New Year, it has fully bloomed. The flower disappears the very next day.
