Heifer Nepal Help in Nuwakot Earthquake victim.

Heifer International’s mission is to end hunger and poverty while caring for the Earth. For 70 years, we have provided livestock and environmentally sound agricultural training to improve the lives of those who struggle daily for reliable sources of food and income.
Today, in Khairmara women from different villages have gathered for an exposure visit. Ekta Women’s SHG members are hosting their first ever such exchange and interaction visit. They have held a grand reception with garland of flowers, welcome songs and dances for the visitors who have newly formed their own SHG. The visit starts with a tour around the village where the women observe improved sheds for livestock, bio-gas, fodder/forage plantation, irrigation canals, drinking water taps etc. Since the visitors come from flat lands, they put in extra effort to keep up with their hosts in sloppy hills. Besides the difference in topography where they hail from, the two groups belong to different ethnic groups with their own culture and language. Yet, they bond quickly as all of them can relate to being a woman and a rural farmer.
