UCPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that it was wrong to form the Reconstruction Authority through Ordinance when the parliamentary session is scheduled for June 26. He was talking to reporters after meeting with comedy artists Ghanashyam Gautam and his wife Yug Jyoti Gautam of popular comedy TV program Meri Bassai at Suryabinayak Municipality-3, Bhaktapur. Dahal blamed the government of putting parliament in the dark by opting to form the Authority four days ahead of the parliamentary session. He commented the Authority looks like the Council of Ministers as instead of an independent body. "The parties agree in principle to form the reconstruction authority," he said. "But, we had suggested that it should be constituted after forming a special parliamentary committee. The effort to bring this through ordinance is not good. We protest the process". Meanwhile, Dahal also stated that the recent Supreme Court decision will not hinder the constitution drafting process. He, however, clarified it does not mean that the four parties intend to move ahead arbitrarily by ignoring the apex court. RSS
