Kathmandu Temperature climbs to 35 degrees celsius

Posted by Anup Baral June 07, 2015 :
Kathmandu Valley recorded 35 degree Celsius temperature on Saturday, the highest for this year so far and in the past three years, as day temperatures continue to rise in many places across the country. The highest average day temperature in the Valley was 30 one week ago.

Likewise, many districts in the Eastern, Central and Western regions have also seen rising mercury levels in the recent days. Normal life across southern and some hill districts has been severely affected owing the continuous rise in temperatures as well as heat waves, particularly in the Far-Western Tarai districts, for the past one week. Market places have remained almost closed during the afternoons while the movement of people has become less frequent as extreme heat conditions persist in Dhangadhi.
