Other Related News: Biography of Lokman Singh Karki. Lokman Singh Karki is the Chief Commissioner of The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA). The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority is an autonomous, apex constitutional body to curb corruption and its tentacles in the country. Interim constitution of Nepal 2007 has empowered CIAA to investigate and probe cases against the persons holding any public office and their associates who are indulged in the abuse of authority by way of corruption and/or improper conduct. CIAA is the unique anti-corruption agency in South-Asia, which plays the role of an ombudsman, investigator and prosecutor as well. It also focuses on detection and punishment of corrupt acts on the one hand and social, cultural and institutional reform on the other. Along with these constitutional responsibilities, Hon.Chief Commissioner has pioneered a new vision that "Corruption free society should be our right." His priorities have been to march an anti-corruption movement and to establish a society free of corruption where Good governance prevails, Rule based democracy is respected, Human Rights is best realized, Development is embraced and Constitutionalism as a whole gets protected. His primacies have become to empower and provide voice to the deprived and most vulnerable people, and to fortify the Commission itself. "I want to build a Society Free of Corruption", the Hon. Chief Commissioner has said, "And service my country to recuperate and rebuild by wiping out the threat of corruption. My perseverance to contribute in Nation Building and its prosperity is the core reason behind pursuing a career in public service. As the Chief Commissioner, I am resolute to see this Commission deliver palpable, significant results that advance Good Governance, development and human rights."
