A chartered helicopter belonging to Simrik Air crashed Monday in Gorkha, about 250 kilometer west of Kathmandu, officials said. However, all five people on board including crew members are safe, chief administrator of Gorkha district Uddhav Timilsina told Bernama in a telephone interview. According to Timalsina , the helicopter, which was carrying people and logistics for a function related to drinking water and sanitation, met with an accident while trying to land.

Dil Bahadur Oli of Simrik Air said the chopper did not suffer significant damage, adding that something, perhaps a small stone, hit the tail rotor of the chopper while trying to land which caused the accident. However, local people said a bird hit the chopper before it met with an accident, which was denied by Oli.
