Water flow crosses 225,000 Cusecs in Mahakali River

With the heavy rainfall since early morning on Thursday in the far west part, the water level in Mahakali River has increased by posing threat to the residents of the river bank areas.The water flow was recorded at 225,000 Cusecs at 8:00 am today, according to the District Police Office (DPO), Kanchanpur. About a dozen buildings in the same area including the building of Kailashpati Lower Secondary School and Byas VDC office are at a high risk. Kailashpati School is closed for three days owing to the possible danger.Spokesperson of the DPO and Deputy Superintendent of Police Avinarayan Kafle said the water level in the river is rising continuously and the residents of Mahakali River bank have been asked to remain alert.
