CIB brings home Justice Bam's 'killer'

Posted by Anup Baral August 22, 2015 :
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has brought absconding Sanjaya Islami Magar, who allegedly shot former Supreme Court Justice Rana Bahadur Bam to Nepal today. A CIB team landed with Magar at the Tribhuvan Interantional Airport (TIA) this morning, according to spokesperson of CIB, SP Kiran Maharjan.

A Red Corner notice had been circulated by Interpol on January 6 on the request of Nepal Police to arrest Magar. Accordingly, the Saudi Arabia police had arrested Magar aka Bhagwan on March 25 from Saudi Arabia. A team from CIB had left for the Gulf country on August 18 to bring Magar to Nepal. Meanwhile, police had earlier arrested another alleged shooter, Kiran Chaudhary aka Shiva. Police had on January 3 nabbed Babu Thapa, Karan Chaudhary aka Shiva, Prem Raj Khadka and Dipak Karna on allegations of involvement in murdering Justice Bam and made them public. Babu Thapa, a former cadre of Chure Bhawar Rastriya Ekata Party, had also contested for the first Constituent Assembly seat. Justice Bam was murdered in May 2012 near UN Park in Lalitpur while returning after visiting Patan-based Banglamukhi temple.
