A Colorado jury has sentenced Colorado theater shooter James Holmes to life in prison.
12 people were murdered and 70 injured in the Colorado movie theater shooting. James Holmes is sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole because the jurors could not reach a unanimous verdict on the death penalty. The same jurors previously confirmed they found aggravating factors in the mass shooting for which they convicted the gunman. They also confirmed that any mitigating factors that might exist do not outweigh the aggravating factors.
