Maiya Devi Shrestha, who is well known for making donations in cash and land, has opened a trust in her own name and donated land and a home valued at Rs. 80 million all together. She also handed over Rs. 20 million to the trust.
During a function organized in the presence of Education Minister Chitra Lekha Yadav Wednesday, Shrestha handed over the cheque, the land ownership papers and the keys of the house. Shrestha had already transferred ownership of the three-storey house to the trust last year. The house stands on 222 square meters of land at Bharatpur Sub-metropolis Ward No. 3, Putali Baazar. The trust has altogether 11 members and was registered last year. The trust aims to take up social service.
