The first of the two-day general strike called by the CPN-Maoist, Madhesi parties and Limbuwan Party against the proposed 6-state federal model has affected normal life across the country. Few motorcycles are running on the road in the Capital while public transport has remained completely shut. Normal life has been severely affected as major market areas, educational institutes and industries have also remained closed.
