Police have arrested fugitive former DSP Jagadish Chand in connection with the murder of media baron Jamim Shah, on Saturday. Jamim Shah was an Indian Nepalese media entrepreneur and the chairman of Channel Nepal Pvt. Ltd. He was the pioneer of commercial cable television network in Nepal with over 1,000 kilometres of cable network. He also had two newspapers (now closed) and a television channel "Channel Nepal which is the first satellite channel in Nepal. Shah, Chairman of Spacetime Network Pvt. Ltd., was shot dead by an Indian underworld gang in broad daylight in the busy street of Lajimpat of the capital while he was heading toward his home in Panipokhari on February 7, 2010. Chand, who was on the run after the crime, arrested six years after the crime from his Minbhawan-based house last night, police confirmed.
