Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) on Tuesday unveiled the 13-member Nepali team that will take on World XI in the in the fundraising match ‘Bat for Nepal’ at Kinrara Oval in Malaysia on Sunday. According to a press release issued by CAN, the proceeds from the event will go to a relief fund for victims of the April 25 earthquake.The Nepali team will be led by national skipper Paras Khadka. Other members of the team are Gyanendra Malla, Sharad Veswakar, Mahaboob Alam, Rajesh Pulami, Sompal Kami, Anil Kumar Mandal, Siddhanta Lohani, Raju Rijal, Shakti Gauchan, Bhuwan Karki, Avinash Karn and Karan KC. National team coach Pubudu Dassanayake has been assigned the role of coach. Malaysian Cricket Association (MCA) came up with the idea to organize the event to raise funds for the April 25 earthquake victims of Nepal. Sri Lankan great Sanath Jayasuriya has been named the captain of World XI. The World XI comprises of wicketkeeper Rashid Latif (Pakistan), Aminul Islam (Bangladesh), Sohag Gazi (Bangladesh), Abdur Rassak (Bangladesh), Steve O'Keefe (Australia), Marcus Stoinis (Australia), Chetan Suryawangsi (Singapore), Suresh Navaratnam (Malaysia), Ahmad Faiz (Malaysia) and Venugopal Rao (India).@myrepublica
