Torrential rain causes the Mancunian Way carriageway to collapse, creating a 40ft deep hole at the Ancoats end of the busy commuter route. The road remains shut and a fence has been erected around the hole to stop people getting too close. Roads in Timperly and Oldham also flooded after the bad weather.
