A loud noise halfway through the village, audible to those in the ground and even inside the enclosed press box, has been explained by the police as an electricity transformer explosion. The blast have killed at least2 people and injured 6. Injured were rushed to Manipal Hospital. The blast of the transformer could be due to overload. Usually power shedding is done to prevent overload, but during summer seasons, the usage of electricity increases and thus causes overload in electricity transformers.
