The talks between Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Ranjit Rae, on newly surfaced problems in bilateral relations were positive, Prime Minister’s foreign affairs advisor said. PM’s foreign affairs advisor Dinesh Bhattarai told the Rastriya Samachar Samiti that the talks were positive regarding improving the relations between two nations. Rae, who was summoned to New Delhi on Monday following the new constitution promulgation in Nepal on Sunday, had directly reached PM Koirala’s residence in Baluwatar after landing at the Tribhuvan International Airport this morning. “After returning from Delhi, the Ambassador Rae briefed the Prime Minister about the meetings he attended in Delhi,” Bhattarai told the RSS. Of late, the bilateral relationship between Nepal and its southern neighbour has soured after India repeatedly expressed concerns over continuous protests in Tarai region over some issues of the Constitution. It has even refrained from welcoming the historic charter and asked the Nepali side to address its concerns.
