India has openly showed dissatisfaction over the promulgation of new constitution in Nepal expressing deep concern over violence in regions of Nepal bordering India. Issuing a press statement on Monday, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs has expressed concerns “over the incidents of violence resulting in death and injury in regions of Nepal bordering India following the promulgation of Constitution yesterday”.Nepal's prime minister has cancelled plans to attend a meeting of the United Nations General Assembly, his spokesman said on Wednesday, in order to hold talks to end weeks of protests against a new constitution that have killed more than 40 people. The decision by Prime Minister Sushil Koirala underscores his government's struggle to quell the protests in the multi-ethnic country that have exposed fault lines kept in check by a 239-year-old Hindu monarchy until its collapse in 2008.
