Constitution of Nepal 2072

The President announced the commencement of the new constitution endorsed by the CA and authenticated by CA Chairman Subas Chandra Nembang from today.

 The CA Chair also presented the copies of the new constitution which saw passage from the CA as per sub-section (3) of the CA Regulation 110.

The CA meeting was attended by the Vice President Paramananda Jha, Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and Chief Justice Kalyan Shrestha.

The special ceremony was also attended by CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, former prime ministers and CA members Sher Bahadur Deuba, Madhav Kumar Nepal, Jhalanath Khanal, Dr Baburam Bhattarai among others.

President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has called on one and all to protect and promote federal democratic republic for the establishment of the rights from the Constituent. In a brief address to the Constituent Assembly meeting he delivered after announcing the promulgation of the new constitution this evening, President Yadav said the people’s aspiration in the democratic struggle has been materialized.
 “On this occasion, I show my respect to the martyrs of the people’s movement, struggling people and their representatives. The federal democratic republic has been instituted in the country,” he declared. According to him, the source of the people’s sovereignty and state authority is the people themselves. During the implementation of the constitution, the multi-party proportional inclusive representation with federalism and republic would be prospered.
 He expressed his belief that the country would move ahead to economic development through durable peace and political stability.
 Similarly, the President said, “Our country is multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-religious and multi-cultural and geographically diverse. This constitution will protect and promote the aspiration and rights of all people from all regions and castes, culture and identity.” The constitution, he hoped, will end all sorts of discrimination and disparity.
 He also urged all Nepali sisters and brothers from mountain, hill and Tarai to protect and promote the constitution with cooperation, unity and harmony. The constitution is a dynamic document, he said, urging everyone to be active for social justice, rights and prosperity with the successful use of the constitution.
The constitution passed by the CA with the people’s representations is a common resolution to protect Nepal’s freedom, sovereignty and geographical integrity, the President asserted. The President, extended thanks to all Nepali sisters and brothers, CA members and CA Chairman for their contribution on preparing this constitution- a historic document.
 Similarly, Deputy Prime Ministers duo Prakashman Singh Bam Dev Gautam, ministers, former CA members, high ranking officers of Nepal government, civil society representatives, industrialists, chief of the diplomatic missions, media and others. RSS
