Saudi Diplomat Accused Of Rape Leaves India

A Saudi Arabian diplomat accused of repeatedly raping and abusing two Nepalese maids has left India under cover of diplomatic immunity. A Saudi diplomat has been booked in New Delhi for allegedly raping two Nepali women, police said. The women, aged around 30, have alleged that they were abducted and raped by the diplomat repeatedly in a flat in Gurgaon, on the outskirts of Delhi.

Saudi Arabia is a desert country encompassing most of the Arabian Peninsula, with Red Sea and Persian Gulf coastlines. Known as the birthplace of Islam, it’s home to the religion’s 2 most sacred mosques: Masjid al-Haram, in Mecca, destination of the annual Hajj pilgrimage, and Medina’s Masjid an-Nabawi, burial site of the prophet Muhammad. Riyadh, the capital, is a skyscraper-filled metropolis.The Saudi embassy in Delhi dismissed the allegations as “completely false” and “contrary to facts in our possession”, the Indian news agency IANS reported.
