The government has agreed to address the five-point demands put forth by the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front after three-hour meeting between the talk teams. The minister will be assisted by Federal Socialist Forum Vice-chairman Lalbabu Raut.The next meeting has been scheduled for Thursday. The government has requested the UDMF to call off protests. However, the UDMF has decided to go with the protests, Ray said. UDMF has been demanding to declare martyrs to deceased of the Madhes protests, provide compensation to family members of the deceased, free medical treatment to injured, lift declaration of conflict-hit areas and curfew in various districts and release all arrested UDMF cadres and leaders.
