The vice-president of the Maldives has been arrested in connection with an alleged plot to assassinate the president, the home minister says.
The vice president of the Maldives has been arrested and charged with attempting to assassinate the president. President Abdulla Yameen escaped unhurt after an explosion on his boat when he was returning from the Haj, but his wife and two aides were injured.
