Different parts of the country including some western districts received rainfall since Wednesday evening. Rainfall occurred in the capital city Kathmandu since this morning, causing the mercury to dip. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, though the monsoon season already ended in the country, the precipitation witnessed in various places on Wednesday was due to the influence of the Westerly winds.
Meteorologist Barun Poudel said the rain would stop in the western parts today while traveling towards the eastern parts of the country and will completely stop by tomorrow. He said the central and eastern parts also received rain which was brought by the rain-bearing clouds that originated from the Arabian Sea.
