62 Days : India's Blockade of Nepal

Kamal Thapa, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal, was born on 4 August 1955 in Makawanpur district of Nepal. Since 1988, Hon.

 Thapa has served several times as Minister by undertaking the portfolio of Home Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Information and Communication, Health, Forest and Soil Conservation, Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Local Development, Agriculture, Housing and Physical Planning. Hon. Thapa, the incumbent member of the Legislature Parliament of Nepal, has been elected for several times to this body. Hon.

Thapa had led the Nepalese Delegation to UN General Assembly (1997) and the SAARC Council of Ministers (1998). He was also the leader of the Nepalese delegation to the World Summit on Information System 2003, and Asian Information Minister’s Summit 2003. He also served as the Chief de Mission of Nepal in the Summer Olympics 1984, Los angles and the Asian Games 1982, Delhi. He led several national and international seminars and conferences.
