A team of Nepal Oil Corporation is going to Bangladesh to study the possibility of importing fuel from Bangladesh as an acute shortage continues to grip Nepal making life hard for the people due to India’s unofficial embargo. The state-owned oil monopoly, which recently signed a memorandum of understanding with PetroChina to import oil from the northern neighbour, has been looking for more suppliers in a bid to diversify its sources.Nepal is heavily dependent on imports from India because it is landlocked by some of the world's tallest mountains. The fuel stoppage has crippled Nepal and stalled all kinds of activities -- including earthquake recovery efforts, said workers involved in the Baptist Global Response disaster relief effort in Nepal.
