Chairman of Sadbhawana Party Nepal and Leader of United Democratic Madheshi Front have urged India authorities to announce official blockade over Nepal. Speaking at a press conference in Birgunj leader Mahato accused Nepali government for not being serious towards the Madheshi issues and stated that the government and ruling parties of Nepal have ignored the 3 months long protest and 2 months long blockade by different agitating Madheshi groups.

Police has said the person killed in police firing in Birgunj on Monday is an Indian citizen. The deceased is identified as 30 year old Aashish Ram. Ram died of bullet injuries in the head that he sustained when police opened fire near Shankaracharya gate in the Nepal-India border on Monday afternoon.
Police has recovered two sets of mobile phones with Indian numbers from Ram's body.
Issuing a press statement this evening, the Ministry of Home Affairs claimed that the law enforcement personnel were forced to open fire as their repeated bids to take the situation under control with baton-charging and tear gas failed.Statement:
The Ministry has observed that police were successful in resuming mobility across the border by removing protesters off the borderland earlier this morning, but the “Indian side did not cooperate with local Nepali officials’ requests with Indian counterparts to let cargo vehicles, fuel tankers and gas bullets enter Nepal.”
