Paris was struck by co-ordinated attacks on Friday night, killing scores of people in one of the deadliest terrorist atrocities in a western capital city since September 11, 2001. France has closed its borders and a city-wide curfew remains in effect in Paris, where more than more then 100 people have been killed in a series of coordinated terrorist attacks. Security forces moved into a concert venue around 1 a.m. local time Saturday to end a hostage crisis inside, where police said at least 100 were killed.About 140 people died in shootings and explosions at at least six sites, many of them in a popular concert hall where patrons were taken hostage, police and medical officials said. The series of attacks gripped the city in fear and recalled the horrors of the Charlie Hebdo carnage just 10 months ago.The attack comes as France has heightened security measures ahead of a major global climate conference that starts in two weeks, out of fear of violent protests and potential terrorist attacks.
