Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Thursday recommended the government to suspend Armed Police Force (APF) Chief Kosh Raj Onta on charges of financial irregularities. The CIAA spokesperson Krishna Hari Pushkar told THT Online that the recommendation is made as per Section 19(3) of the CIAA Act 1991 for they could destroy evidences against them and influence the ongoing investigation if kept intact in the positions. The three other officials recommended for the suspension include DSP duo Suman Jung Thapa and Ram Krishna Maharjan and Inspector Bin Bahadur Thapa, according to Pushkar. Issuing a press statement, the anti-corruption constitutional watchdog said the officials embezzled millions of rupees from the state coffers during two fiscal years – 2012/13 and 2013/14 – while supplying various goods to the APF local units across the nation. Onta has been accused of embezzlement in procuring logistics for his organization.
