Tarai-Madhes Loktantrik Party (TMLP) Chairman Mahantha Thakur has urged the government to seek consensus collectively as the Constitution Amendment Bill tabled at the Legislature-Parliament could not address their demands. He also expressed concern over the bill being tabled at Parliament on Tuesday amid protests by the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front. Chairman Thakur said so at a press conference organised by the TMLP, Birgunj, in Parsa today. He also accused the government of trying to foil environment for talks with the agitating parties including TMLP by tabling the bill. The TMLP Chairman added that talks between the government and agitating parties would not be successful until past agreements are implemented. He said that they would continue the ongoing protests until Madhesi people are provided with their rights. Chairman Thakur also said that talks between the agitating parties and government would not be fruitful unless the government comes up with a clear concept on their demands including practical implementation of proportional inclusive representation of Madhesis, determination of electoral constituencies based on population and delineation of federal states.
