Earthquake-proof Prefabricated Homes For Nepal

Eight months after the 7.6 magnitude earthquake devastated the country, Parliament has endorsed the bill to form a National Reconstruction Authority that will oversee the entire task of quake reconstruction and rehabilitation and provide relief to the victims. The Nepali Congress has said that solution of the existing problems should be found out on the basis of the constitution amendment bill submitted in the Parliament on Tuesday. Today’s central committee meeting of the party held at party headquarters at Sanepa, decided to move ahead after holding consultation with other political parties to settle the problems, saying submission of the bill related to formation of reconstruction authority and constitution amendment bill in the Parliament was positive. Talking to media persons after the meeting, NC Spokesperson, Dilendra Prasad Badu, said, “There was an understanding over the issues of proportional and declaring electoral constituencies during promulgation of new constitution. It has now got a conclusion. A process has begun to approve the bill after holding discussion and forging consensus among all parties if the bill has some linguistic errors and issues to be revised.” Badu further said that the meeting also drawn a conclusion that the solution of the dispute issues raised by the agitating Madhes-based political parties including delineation of federal states should be found out through political dialogue and consensus. The meeting also drew the attention of the government towards shortage of daily essentials including medicine, construction materials as well as disruption of teaching learning activities due to Madhes agitation and border blockade and urged the government to be serious to resolve the problems.
