Cadres of Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha clashed with police at Biratnagar-Jogbani border point on Saturday. Madhesi leader Rajendra Mahato was injured in the scuffle. The clash ensued when police tried to stop Mahato from taking part in sit-in programme organised to block the entry of goods through the border point. Mahato, some party leaders and Morcha cadres had entered the Dasgaja area via India to organise a sit-in near the Customs Office. Police tried to remove them from their spot which started the clash. Morcha cadres than entered into Indian territory and threw stones at police towards the Nepali side of the border. Police also fired tear gas shells and baton charged to quell any untoward situation.
