The All Nepal Federation of Trade Unions (ANFRTU) cadres stormed in the defunct factory to pressure the government to run it again. The factory established with the German support is closed since 2002 concluding that it had caused pollution in the valley. Addressing the cadres, ANFRTU Chairman Ramdip Acharya said the government should run the factory and ensure job to 500 labors that had lost the job. “We will not allow the government to sell equipments and production plant of the factory at such a lower price,” Acharya said. Acharya warned that the party will set up a camp of National Youth Volunteers, a youth wing of CPN-M, to safeguard the property. The move comes in the light of Maoist decision to expose corruption at state owned corporations.
