Protesters, cops injured in clashes in Birgunj, Gaur

The meeting of the parliament has been obstructed on Tuesday as well after the lawmakers representing Madhes-based parties picketed the rostrum seeking the fulfillment of their demands. Nepal government formally requested India to contribute to strengthening the relationship between the two countries by normalising the flow of essential supplies.

Madhesi lawmakers started chanting slogans and picketed the rostrum as soon as Speaker Onsari Gharti announced the commencement of the today’s meet and allocated time to Nepali Congress lawmaker Farmullah Mansoor to address the House.They demanded that the Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Ranjit Rae, be sent back to India and the Indian blockade on Nepal be immediately lifted. Speaker Gharti was scheduled to read out the letter received from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in today’s meeting. Following the obstruction, Speaker Gharti adjourned the House till 1 pm December 6. Earlier, the meeting of Parliament was adjourned till today following obstruction by the NC.
