Speaker urges political parties to seek political outlet to current crisis

Speaker of Legislature-Parliament Onsari Gharti has appealed to all the political parties to seek an outlet to current political deadlock in the country, while focusing on the country and the country people. Addressing a function organized by the Legislature-Parliament here today on the occasion of the Parliament Day, Speaker Gharti reiterated, “I urged all the top leaders of the political parties to pay due attention towards resolving the current crisis in the country by considering amendment in the new constitution so as to avert the unfavorable political consequences.” Gharti stressed the need for mutual understanding among the political parties in and out of the government and collective effort for the resolution. Stating that there were still more rooms for upgrading the legislature-parliament services, Speaker Gharti pointed out the need for collective initiative to transform such services into an autonomous, professional, specialized and lucrative one. Echoing with Speaker Gharti, Joint-Speaker of House Ganga Prasad Yadav said, “It is imperative we all work untied to render more professional and specialized services.” Also speaking at the programme Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Agni Prasad Kharel apprised that as many as 193 new laws would be formulated within 20 days in course of the implementation of the newly promulgated national charter. He was of the view that if the parliament service is to be made more effective, the function of the government would be made further efficient. Similarly, Chief Whip of Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal Dilnath Giri lauded the commendable roles played by the staffers at the Legislative Secretariat in connection to the constitution promulgation process. Likewise, Chief Whip of Rastriya Prajatantra Party Parashuram Tamang spoke of the need for the Secretariat staffers to carry on public welfare activities by capitalizing on their skills and capabilities.
