House passes Bill on Vaccination

The meeting of the Legislature-Parliament on Monday unanimously passed a bill and approved the proposals seeking that three other bills be sent to the respective committees for clause-wise discussions. It unanimously approved the proposal presented by the Minister of State for Finance Damodar Bhandari seeking the House send the 'Banking Crime and Punishment (First Amendment) Bill, 2071 and the Bill Related to Banks and Financial Institutions, 2072 to the related committees for clause-wise discussions. The meeting also unanimously approved the proposal presented by the Minister for Law, Justrice and Parliamentary Affairs Agni Prasad Kharel on behalf the Education Minister that the Parliament forward the ' Education (Eighth Amendment ) Bill, 2072' to the committee concerned.

The Parliament unanimously passed the proposal seeking that the House pass the Vaccination Bill, 2072. Minister Kharel had presented the proposal on behalf the Minister for Health. Before this, in response to the proposal which lawmaker Dilli Prasad Kafle presented during the general discussions on the Bill along with the report of the Committee on Women, Children, Senior Citizens and Social Welfare, that the private sector should not be allowed to operate health institutions, Minister Kharel said one could not support this view, however, the private sector could not participate in the inoculation programme without taking permission from the government. Prior to the Minister's reply, lawmaker Ram Hari Khatiwada objected to that fact that the concerned minister was not present in the parliament to table the bill. He demanded that the minister concerned should have presented the bill in Parliament and given replies. At the outset, Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar informed the House about the changes in the names of lawmakers on the Business Advisory Committee. The next meeting of the Legislature-Parliament is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, at 1 pm. RSS
