When he became Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said physical infrastructure development including roads and bridges was the priority of the government. Political parties also compete for the acceleration of development endeavours projects, he said. Inaugurating the suspension bridge built over the Bagmati River at Shobhanebesi of Makwanpur today, the Prime Minister said the government was looking for an alternative to cope with the severe power crisis facing the country. On the occasion, Assistant Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development Biraj Bista said the government was effortful for the development of physical infrastructure in rural parts of the country. Nepali Congress lawmakers Uday Shamser JB Rana and Indra Bahadur Baniya, CPN (UML) lawmaker Sushila Nepal and Suspension Bridge Division Chief Director General Jeevan Kumar Shrestha sought the government’s priority to the development of physical infrastructure in rural areas.
