Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s press advisor Chetan Adhikari informed that the meeting called by the Prime Minister will discuss on the ongoing talks with the Madhesi Morcha, blockade among other political issues.The talk that between the major parties–Nepali Congress (NC), CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoist and the agitating Madhesi Morcha, which was joined by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, failed because Morcha didn’t agreed on the 3 points proposal forwarded the major three parties.
During the talk, Morcha leaders insisted on the 11-point demands including readjustment of federal state demarcation should be addressed for the ongoing agitation to stop, while the ruling parties urged the Morcha to remove the blockade at borders.
Terai Madhes Democratic Party Chairman Mahanta Thakur declined the proposal forwarded by the major three parties and said, Morcha will not withdraw protest programs until the demands of Madhesi bodies are addressed according to Morcha’s wish.
The leaders of the major parties are holding discussions a day after the agitating Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha dubbed the meeting of the taskforce formed to resolve the Tarai crisis as irrelevant.
