The Legislature-Parliament on Friday approved the proposal seeking consideration on the Bill Related to the Special Economic Zone, 2071. The meeting of the Legislature-Parliament approved the proposal presented by Industry Minister Som Prasad Pandey with a majority. Minister Pandey explained that the Bill has been brought with the plan of import substitution, promoting exports and operating special economic zone. “The government has brought the bill with the goal of making the country economically prosperous through the coworking of the private sector and the government,” he added. Earlier, taking part in the general discussions on the bill, Nepal Majdoor Kisan Party lawmaker Prem Suwal suggested the government to withdraw the bill as according to him the bill gave space to some people to exploit the masses taking control over the entire resources of the country.Agitating Sadbhawana Party (SP) Chairperson Rajendra Mahato has warned that the country would steer towards violence if the peaceful protest underway in Madhes failed to deliver any concrete results.
