Standing Committee members of the UCPN-Maoist criticised party leader and Minister for Home Affairs Shakti Bahadur Basnet for including names of kin of some party leaders including Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal in the quake victims’ list to visit China. The meeting of the UCPN Maoist held on Saturday also concluded that the decision has tarnished the party image. In the team left for China on Friday study the quake victims, grandchildren of party chairman Dahal and daughters of the Home Minister Basnet himself were incorporated. Almost all the in the team are relatives of UCPN-M leaders. Northern neighbor China had invited a 100-member team of youths in the age group of 15-30 years for an observation visit to earthquake affected regions. It is said that the tea will visit Kunming and Chhendung of Sichuan Province, which was devasted from the recent earthquake.
