Kapil Sharma and Sumona's Nautanki Non-Stop | Comedy Circus

Kapil Sharma’s walkout/ouster from Comedy Nights with Kapil made headlines. Soon after reports of Krushna Abhishek replacing the popular host came out. The story took many twists and turns. Some claimed Kapil’s attitude had cost him the show, others revealed that the comedian-turned-Bollywood hero wanted more moolah for a show that was loosing its charm. Fans of course went berserk defending their star host on social media. Kapil left only to join hands with a rival channel (Sony) for a new show. Kapil’s controversial exit became even more pronounced when his finale episode was delayed. When the channel decided to play a butcher and chopped off the emotional climax of CNWK all hell broke loose.

What followed was an ugly war between Kapil, Colors and Comedy Nights’ new host Krushna. Colors came out to defend their decision or throwing out their famous host and even accused him of extorting more money and bad behaviour. Krushna who replaced Kapil took it to another level by making his debut episode on Comedy Nights Live a ‘Kapil bashing’ show. Of course it was not like Kapil’s side was quiet through all this. CNWK ex-host himself, stories of Kapil accusing Colors of insecurity and hampering his growth also made headlines. Buzz was that Sharma wanted to host shows on competition’s network, but Colors was strict and didn’t want their channel’ face to make appearances elsewhere. Then there was Preeti Simoes (creative director of CNWK) who defended Kapil in a tell-all interview and blasted Krushna for his ‘insecure’ remarks. Simoes didn’t spare Colors and hinted that the channel was ’digging their own grave’.
