Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party Chairman and leader of agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) Mahantha Thakur today said that UDMF has not made any decision to disrupt general conventions of any political parties. Speaking at a press conference in Parsa, Chairman Thakur, however, said that in the course of barring those lawmakers participated in the voting to promulgate the constitution from Tarai districts as per the front’s policy, the general convention of Nepali Congress at village levels were affected in some districts. He said that present crisis would be resolved after talks between the government and agitating parties resumes. He said that the meeting of top leaders of the front scheduled to take place on February 4 and 5 in Birgunj would decide on changing the course of ongoing protest. It would also decide on whether or not to continue the border disruption at Birgunj border point. RSS
