The victory rally began from Kakarbhitta and proceeded to the Chandragadhi airport, passing through Dhulabari and Birtamod. Earlier,a team including Minister for Youth and Sports, Satya Narayan Mandal and Joint Secretary at the ministry Chudamani Pokharel had reached Bagdogra, India to welcome the victorious team. The football team will first arrive at Kakarbhitta of Jhapa district where a victory rally will be held. The rally will be organized by the District Sports Development Committee of Jhapa, said Shankar Thapa, president of the committee. Nepal blew away a two-goal lead before making a superb comeback to beat Maldives 4-3 in extra time making it to the men’s football final of the 12th SA Games on Saturday. Nawayug Shrestha struck a hat-trick in Nepal’s comeback victory after Anjan Bista put Nepal ahead early in the game. Md Hamza, Ahmed Nashid and Hasan Naiz struck for Maldives. The victory put Nepal in the SA Games football final after 17 years.
