Nepalese royal massacre, 13 Years Later

Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev was the 11th King of Nepal. He is the eldest son of King Mahendra. King Birendra died in the 2001 Nepalese royal massacre. He is the most internationally well-known Nepalese king in modern history.

Nepal today observed the 13th death anniversary of King Birendra, who was killed in tragic circumstances along with eight other family members, though there was no official programme at the Narayanhiti Royal Palace. King Birendra, Queen Aishwarya and eight other members of his family were allegedly killed on June 1, 2001 at the royal palace. According to the official report released Dipendra committed suicide after the massacre but no one in Nepal is agree to believe that report. Watch photo of King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev & family.
