Many families in Nepal are wondering how to prepare the next meal, as they have not been able to refill their empty cooking gas cylinders because of shortage.A severe shortage of gas cylinders, essential for heating and cooking in a country with no mains supply, has increased the hardship for Nepalis already enduring seasonal daily power cuts of up to 14 hours. As in the last few days, the Kathmandu Valley and many other places around the country today saw long queues in front of shops that sell bottled cooking gas, reflecting acute shortage of the commodity that has continued for almost a month.
