Senior leader of UCPN (Maoist) Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has said that his party was against holding talks with the ruling parties. Also, the UCPN-Maoist decided to stick to its earlier announcement to boycott the Constituent Assembly committees for a month in order to exert pressure on the ruling parties to review their decision to take up the majority-based decision making procedure at the CA. Talking to reporters in an special interaction organized by the Reporters Club in the party's headquarters in Paris Danda, Bhattarai stated that sitting for talks with the NC and UML was akin to surrendering. He said that the talks were possible only if the ruling parties withdrew the Constituent Assembly (CA) process to draft the new constitution and agreed for the talks without any condiitons.
