Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said the process for talks could not move ahead as Prime Minister Sushil Koirala has not expressed any commitment on scrapping the majority process. Last week Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has said he has seen death from close quarters, and he is not scared of it. His "past" is often his reference point to his days In underground politics that spanned across nearly quarter of a century, with the last decade (Feb 1996-April 2006) as the leader of an armed insurgency against the state in which 16,000 people lost their lives.

Unified CPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal today visited ailing Nepali Congress leader Chakra Prasad Bastola at the latter’s residence in Khumaltar of Lalitpur. Although Bastola has been unconscious for 25 months, Dahal spoke to him. “You arranged the meeting between late NC leader Girija Prasad Koirala and us in New Delhi before beginning the peace process. The same meeting led us towards signing the 12-point agreement. So, I wish your health improves. We need your help in the peace process,”.
