Foreigners held for smuggling currencies in Nepal

Police have arrested an Indian national on charges of attempting to smuggle out foreign currencies worth Rs 20 million from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu. The Metropolitan Police TIA Security Unit arrested Manoharlal Kripaldas Asudani in possession of foreign currencies of US, Japan, Australia, Philippines, India and Nepal. He was arrested after the x-ray machines detected the illegal currencies in his luggage. He was scheduled to board a Dragonair flight to Hong Kong at 9:30 pm on Wednesday.
