No agreement to separate hill from Tarai: kp Oli

CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli on Thursday underlined his party's stance that the efforts to separate Tarai from hilly region of the country in name of federalism were 'anti-nationalist'. Kp Oli said Nepali Congress and UML have been urging UCPN-Maoist-led alliance not to leave the CA but return to negotiation. He added that he was surprised by the remarks of some intellectuals that the ruling parties were responsible for deteriorating the favourable condition for dialogues.

CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli said,"The UCPN-Maoist which came from the violent politics became the largest party in the first CA; the people will not repeat the same mistake again."He also pointed out the process underway at the Constituent Assembly (CA) are a mere 'legal process' for constitution writing. Chairman Oli said the rumours that constitution cannot be drafted from majority process are baseless.Attending the 16th Yadu Memorial Day and a journalism award distribution programme established by the Yadu Memorial Foundation here on Thursday, Chairman Oli said his party will never abandon nationality and democratic values while reasserting the party's position on pushing for a consensus for constitution making.
