An unidentified gang of looters shot dead a man here at Prithivinagar, Southern part of the district on the wee hour of Monday morning.
Dev Kumar Shrestha, 50, a retired head contestable of the Nepal police, of Prithivinagar -8 died when the gang of looters comprising more than 20 people fired gun shots at him before robbing the house. They have also beaten other family members of the deceased Shrestha in the incident. According to DSP Bishowmani Pokhrel at District Police Office, the unidentified gang robbed around Rupees 1 lakh 80 thousand and 10 tolas of gold from Shrestha's house.
